16.58: What Would You Like to See? + 108 Update

What Would You Like to See?

Here I am making a blog post for a video and… it feels strange. The only time I’ve been doing blog posts with videos is at the start and end of the 108-day cycles. I’m writing this post because I’d like to start a trend where more videos have blog posts that go with them. Or perhaps more accurately, write more blog posts and make videos that go with them.

Writing this out is good… it’s reminding me that I have a camera on my phone and I can take pictures of things that I add to the blog posts. Also, since I’m not currently editing my videos, I can shoot short videos that I add to blog posts that don’t appear in your YouTube feed.

I titled this post “What would you like to see?”, but I’m also asking myself what I would like to make. I have a handful of ideas.

  • A 12-day recap. A blog post and vlog about what I did and how my 108 is going.
  • Book reviews/summaries
  • Video game reviews
  • My take on different topics (news, philosophy, etc.)
  • Breakdown of the Daodejing (Tao Te Ching)
  • Summaries of videos that I unprivate

I’m sure there are more things, but those are what come to mind right away.

108 Update

Things have been going awesome. I have three things I MUST do each day.

  • Meditation
  • Journaling in the morning
  • Journaling at night

I haven’t missed a single day in the last 57 days. Outside of those things I also wanted to do basic things like brushing my teeth twice a day, chores, showering, shaving, etc. Even though I made no plans to do these things, I started them on day 1 and have been really consistent with them since then.

More recently I tackled a bad habit from when I was depressed. I would basically stay up until 2 or 3 am doing nothing (watching random YouTube videos). I just broke that habit a couple of weeks ago. Now that that habit is broken I started working on making a good morning routine. Another bad habit of being depressed was staying in bed for hours after waking out, or getting up and falling asleep on the couch. Now I’m working on having some kind of productivity in the morning. This blog post is a result of trying to make my time after waking up a little more useful.

Which Book Should I Read Next?

Ha… I was only going to have this in the YouTube video, but I might as well post it here as well. The book I just finished reading was The Book of Balance and Harmony: A Taoist Handbook. I’m working on the summary for that book now. I have LOTS of books that could be next, but I chose a handful:

I explain each book more in the video, but you can click the links to read more about them on Amazon.

  1. It’s good to see that you are coming out of your slow time. Don’t forget to send me a video tribute to Dave.
